A young man named Timothy received a letter from his mentor and friend, the Apostle Paul some time around 63 AD. The letter contains these encouraging words.
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time (1 Timothy 2:1-6, ESV).
Christianity is not an exclusive club or a secretive society. Christianity is open to all who come. The Scriptures are available for all to read in almost any language. The Scriptures tell of Jesus who came to save all people, all who would come to Him from the destruction of sin. Jesus call all people, from all walks of life, from all nations, from all races, young or old, good person or messed up — actually we are all messed up…and that’s the point. We all need Jesus — its4me2.
